a) Q = C V

potential drop across C₂ , V₂ = Q₂ / C₂ = 30 * 10^-6 / 3 * 10^-6 = 10 V

Charge stored on C₁, Q₁ = C₁ V₂ = 6 * 10^-6 * 10 = 60 muC

Total charge = 30 + 60 = 90 muC

charge stored on C₃ = 90 muC

b) V₃ = Q₃ / C₃ = 90 / 5 = 18 V

V_ab = V₂ + V₃ = 10 + 18

applied voltage = 28 V
