Part A
What is its velocity at x=2m?
Part B
What is its velocity at x=4m?
Solution
given mass of particel m = 1.7 kg
at x = 0, particels velocity v = 3.4 m/s
A. now, area under force, displacement graph giv es work done on the particle
at x = 0, KE of particel = KEo = 0.5mv^2 = 0.5*1.7*3.4^2 = 9.826 J
so, at x = 2m
work done by force = 0.5*2*10 = 10 J
net KE of the object = 19.826 J
let veloctiy be u
then 0.5mu^2 = 19.826 = 0.5*1.7u^2
u = 4.829 m/s
B. at x = 4 m
net work done on the object = 0 J
hence change in KE = 0
so velocity = v = 3.4 m/s
