According to Charles Duhigg in his book \"Power of Habit\" our Habits are made up of a Habit loop which consists of 3 step loop which include:

Idea 1: your habit cue Looking at the Clock
Quote: Looking at the clock triggers the that habit loop of feeding on Junk food (Snacking) before going to bed. Here Looking at the Clock is a trigger which tells our brain to go into an automatic mode and the habits that we have to use.
Explaination: Whenever I look at the clock, it triggers the idea that it has been sometime since I had my dinner and I feel like snacking before bed so that I do not feel hungry while I go to sleep. There have been times when during the night just before I went to bed I felt hungry, so once I started snacking it felt better. So now it has become a habit loop. Now whenever it is time for bed my eyes dart towards the clock on it\'s own triggering the loop.
Idea 2: Routine of your habit Feeling Hungry
Quote: After looking a the clock the feeling that I might be hungry gets triggered. Here Feeling the Hunger is ususally the mental behavior that my body performs regardless of the fact that I may not really be feeling it.
Explaination: Once the Habit is Cued in the body starts to feel or it makes believe that I am feeling hungry. No matter how much I try not to hink about it, it still makes me feel it. This also riggers the next action of going into the Kitchen and Searching for easy to eat, instant foods (Like cup noodles, chips, cookies, etc.) in the Shelf.
Idea 3: Reward your habit Junk Food Snacking
Quote: Here Snacking on Junk Food is the benefit I gain from going through this loop. This reward helps my brain figure out if this particular loop is worth remembering for the future.
Explaination: According to my body, food equals happiness and satisfaction. So once I have gone through the process brain feels the happiness and body (especially the stomach) gets the satisfaction. It might be because of the fact that the additives, salt and sugar in the food has made this process addicting and the habit unbreakable. Brain starts expecting the reward every time the Habit loop triggers. Reward makes the brain remember the fact that every time I go through this loop, the end is satisfying.
