A 8 turn square loop (14 cm along a side, resistance = 4 ) is placed in a magnetic field that makes an angle of 30with the plane of the loop. The magnitude of this field varies with time according to B = 1.2 t2, where t is measured in s and B in T. What are the induced current and its direction in the coil at t = 1.6 s?

Solution

Magnetic flux, F = B.ds = 1.2t^2*0.14*0.14*cos(30) = 0.0203 t^2

V= dF/dt = 0.0406 t

at t =1.6 s

V= 0.065 V

I = V/R = 0.016 A

Direction of current will be in anticlockwise direction to reduce the increase in magneitc flux as time passes (ans)
